Ambika Balraj


To engender a world where people are more tolerant to each other, to animals and to the planet as a whole.

Ambika’s love for the environment, and her need to communicate, first drew her to the role of an educator in EcoSlate, the Education Division of Climate Miles.  She developed the module on Human-Animal conflict, wrote stories and devised games and activities to simplify Sustainability to children and adults alike. The same interests and creativity have also served Ambika well in her current responsibilities in Sustainability Communication projects and Social Media Marketing efforts at Climate Miles.  She also assists Mohan in developing and deploying his lecture sessions at Universities and Schools.

Ambika carries with her research experience in Waste and Effluent Treatment with the Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi. Her interest in marketing probably stemmed out from her time with GlaxoSmithKline.

Ambika has a background in science, having pursued a bachelors degree in Biotechnology from GRD College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore,  and then moving on to a masters in Industrial & Commercial Biotechnology from Newcastle University, UK.

Jaya Chakaravarty


To convert Sustainaibility form an out-there specialist area, to an intuitive intelligence by equipping people and organisations with tools and skills to make informed decisions.

Jaya anchors all internal operations at Climate Miles, including setting up systems and processes for  project management, knowledge amangement and capacity building.

Jaya’s quest for a meaningful career has taken her from a brief stint in the corporate world of TCS and Sprint RPG India, to an independent consultant for grassroots artisanal organisation like Kala Raksha and funding agencies like DFID and Oxfam International. Over the last 15 years she has deepened her study of yoga and now teaches independent classes in the tradition of Shri BKS Iyengar.

Jaya has a bachelor in Biochemistry from Delhi University and is a post graduate from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA). She later studied for a Masters degree in Biology with a cross-specialization in Environmental Biochemistry at New York University, New York.

Joe Kent


To make socially and environmentally sustainable businesses the norm and expectation worldwide.

Joe has a difficult time explaining where he is from, having grown up living on 4 of the world's continents. With the insight he gained from this exposure, he saw the need for creating a more sustainable world. He began his career working in the education sector in India, working to provide high quality, affordable education to the BoP. Later he worked as a fellowship field manager supporting the social enterprise ecosystem in Bangalore, when he was introduced to Climate Miles. Since joining the team, he played a key role developing a sustainability maturity model and supporting the company on a number of other fronts. In July 2014 he co-founded Climate Miles USA and currently leads business development in the United States

Joe holds a Bachelor of Science of Business Management from Babson College and a Certificate of Social Enterprise from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.

Priyanka Gupta


To work towards making the world a better place to live for the present and future generations.

From being a consultant to engaged in developing and deploying the school curriculum at EcoSlate, the Education division at Climate Miles. Priyanka’s disciplined approach to work and her ease in dealing with numbers, has seen her take on a much larger role at Climate Miles.  She now juggles project coordination roles with managing carbon footprint and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) data.

Priyanka holds a Bachelors degree in Commerce from SRCC, New Delhi, a Masters in Commerce from the Delhi School of Economics, and a Bachelors degree in Education.

Mohan Polamar


Vision:World that integrates sustainable practices at home and at work.

Mohan started working very early in life, and carries with him over 20 years of knowledge and experience in the field of Sales and Marketing.  Prior to setting up  Palador Pictures and Climate Miles Pvt. Ltd, Mohan worked in the IT sector where his major clients were Pfizer, Johnson&Johnson, GSK, Merck, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle,Cognizant, Infosys and Wipro.

Mohan co-founded Climate Miles to focus on creating Sustainability IT tools for individuals, enterprises and governments that would enable carbon footprinting and benchmarking analyses, environmental legal compliance and Climate Modelling. He was also involved in the creation of gTrade ( which aims to create viable market based solutions for industries, investors and governments in order to encouraging impact investing in economically and environmentally sustainable businesses across all developing nations starting with India. Mohan often takes time out to take sessions with college and school students as part of the work done by EcoSlate - Climate Miles' education division. It is his long-term goal to watch Climate Miles evolve into one of the premier experts on Sustainability in the country.

Mohan holds a bachelor in Commerce from Madras University and a Masters in Political Science including a PG Diploma in software system design and programming. Mohan has also completed an Executive MBA from Columbia, New York.

Pramod S



Vision:Seeing India lead the sustainability revolution through self driven regional sustainability  competencies that can be a benchmark for global sustainability practices.

Pramod is an engineer who bucked the trend and decided not to become an IT professional.  Instead, he decided to forge for himself a career in the area of providing practical solutions to environmental problems.  At Climate Miles, his role is that of a technical analyst. And with an aptitude to research and a common-sensical approach, he fields all technical queries with elan.  Meanwhile, Pramod is also working for the Indian Institute of Science, researching on waste management, and the benchmarking of sustainable cities around the globe.

Pramod has a bachelors degree in Engineering (Instrumentation). His main research interests are Urban Sustainability, Waste and its Economics, Rural–Urban Interdependence, Sustainable Governance, Green Market, Environmental Economics and  Rural Sustainability.  Pramod is inspired by contemporary writers like Thomas Freidman and conservation photographers like Kalyan Varma.
